This exercise was all about quantitative mapping, proportional symbol mapping to be more specific. The size of the circle relates to the value being mapped.
The base map consists of an Albers Equal Area projection. The European countries needed to be selected an then exported to create a new map with just european nations.
Proportional symbols and legend were all created in ArcGIS. The text, colors, and dropshadow were all done through Adobe illustrator. The dropshadow,though not always necessary, was done to give the map a little bit more of a "pop" and give the viewer an experience.
