This exercise was just part of miscellaneous group of mapping mostly to just get familiar with Adobe Illustrator.
The base map was made in ArcGIS and consisted of graticule, continents, and oceans. The background was to be made with as little noise as possible because the map focuses on the thermohaline circulation.
The bulk of the work was in Adobe Illustrator where we hand made the curved lines using the pen tool. after the connection of lines was made little arrows were placed to show the direction of flow throughout the oceans. With final touches again with dropshadow, and color to show the change in current temperatures the map was complete.
